1. Why this privacy statement?

Dermat attaches great importance to the protection of your privacy and personal data. We use your personal data exclusively in accordance with the Privacy Act and other relevant legal regulations in force. Any reference in this Privacy Statement to the Privacy Act means a reference to the Act of December 8, 1992, on the protection of privacy with regard to the processing of personal data. Any reference to the Regulation is a reference to the Regulation of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

With this Privacy Statement, Dermat wishes to inform you of any processing operations with regard to this data and of your rights. By using our platform/website/application, you explicitly consent to possible processing operations by Dermat.
This Privacy Statement may be subject to changes and amendments in the future. It is up to you to consult this document on a regular basis. Any substantial changes will always be clearly communicated on the Dermat platform.

Dermat undertakes to process only data that is relevant and necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. The following categories of personal data may be processed by Dermat:

4. For what purposes is my personal data used?

Dermat collects personal data to provide you with a secure, optimal, and personalized user experience. The collection of personal data becomes more extensive as you make more intensive use of the platform/website/application and our online services.

Data processing is essential for the functioning of the platform/website/application and the associated services. Processing is carried out exclusively for the following specific purposes:

Providing you with access to your user profile.
Offering and improving general and personalized services, including for billing purposes, providing information, newsletters, and offers that are useful and/or necessary for you, obtaining and processing user reviews, and providing support.

When you visit Dermat's platform/website/application, some data is collected for statistical purposes. Such data is necessary to optimize the use of our platform/website/application. This data includes: IP address, presumed location of consultation, time and date of consultation, and which pages were visited. When you visit Dermat's platform/website/application, you agree to this data collection for statistical purposes as described above.


The User always provides Dermat with personal data themselves and can therefore exercise a certain degree of control. If certain data is incomplete or appears to be incorrect, Dermat reserves the right to temporarily or permanently postpone certain expected actions.
Personal data is only processed for internal use within Dermat.
We can therefore assure you that personal data will not be sold, passed on, or communicated to third parties affiliated with us. Dermat has taken all possible legal and technical precautions to prevent unauthorized access and use.

6. What are my rights?

6.1 Guarantee of lawful and secure processing of personal data

Dermat always processes your personal data fairly and lawfully. This entails the following guarantees:

Personal data will only be processed in accordance with the described and justified purposes of this Privacy Statement.
Personal data will only be processed to the extent that this is adequate, relevant, and not excessive.
Personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes described and justified in this Privacy Statement.

The necessary technical and security measures have been taken to minimize the risks of unlawful access to or processing of personal data. In the event of a breach of its IT systems, Dermat will immediately take all possible measures to minimize the damage.

6.2 Right to access/rectify/erase your personal data

Upon proof of your identity as a User, you have the right to obtain a definitive answer from Dermat as to whether or not your personal data is being processed. If Dermat processes your data, you also have the right to access the personal data collected. If you wish to exercise your right of access, Dermat will comply with your request within one (1) month of receiving it. The request must be made by registered mail or by sending an email to info@dermat.be

Inaccurate or incomplete personal data can always be corrected. It is up to the User to correct any inaccuracies and incompleteness in the first instance. You can exercise your right to correction by providing Dermat with an additional statement. Dermat will comply with this within one (1) month of receiving the additional statement.
You also have the right to have your personal data deleted by us without unreasonable delay. You can only invoke this right to be forgotten in the following cases:

 

When the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was originally collected;
When the personal data was collected on the basis of consent obtained and there is no other legal basis for the processing;
When an objection is made to the processing and there are no overriding compelling legitimate grounds for the processing;
When the personal data has been processed unlawfully; 
When the personal data must be erased in accordance with a legal obligation.

Dermat will assess whether any of the above cases apply.

6.3 Right to restriction of/objection to the processing of your personal data

The User has the right to obtain a restriction on the processing of your personal data:

During the period Dermat needs to verify the accuracy of the personal data, in case of dispute; 
When the data processing is unlawful and the User requests a restriction of processing instead of erasure of the personal data; 
When Dermat no longer needs the User's personal data for the purposes of processing and the User needs the personal data for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
During the period Dermat needs to assess the grounds for erasure of personal data.

During the period Dermat needs to verify the accuracy of the personal data, in the event of a dispute; 
When the data processing is unlawful and the User requests a restriction of the processing instead of the erasure of the personal data; 
When Dermat no longer needs the User's personal data for the purposes of processing and the User needs the personal data for legal proceedings;
During the period Dermat needs to assess the grounds for erasing personal data.

The User also has the right to object to the processing of their personal data at any time. Dermat will then cease processing your personal data, unless Dermat can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing of your personal data that override the User's right to object.
If the User wishes to exercise these rights, Dermat will comply within one (1) month of receiving the request. The request must be made by registered mail or by email to info@dermat.be

6.4 Right to data portability

The User has the right to obtain the personal data provided to Dermat in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. In addition, the User has the right to transfer this personal data to another controller when the processing of the personal data is based solely on the consent obtained from the User.
If the User wishes to exercise this right, Dermat will comply within one (1) month of receiving the request. The request must be made by registered mail or by email to info@dermat.be.


6.5 Right to withdraw my consent/right to lodge a complaint

The User has the right to withdraw their consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. In addition, the User has the right to lodge a complaint regarding the processing of their personal data by Dermat with the Belgian Commission for the Protection of Privacy.
If the User wishes to exercise this right, Dermat will comply within one (1) month of receiving the request. The request must be made by registered mail or by email to info@dermat.be
