The seca 756 is one of the first mechanical column scales that also offers a function for assessing the nutritional status of the person being weighed on the basis of the BMI.

When a person steps onto the platform, a "BMI disc" subdivided into sectors of different colours rotates under the large, precise round dial of this scale. These sectors are visible in a small window next to a height scale. This scale is used to determine the BMI range corresponding to the result of the weighing, with the different colours corresponding to underweight, normal weight, overweight or adiposity (pathological overweight). The flat platform surface and convenient transport wheels are further advantages of the seca 756. This column scale can be equipped with the optional seca 224 scale.
